The settings for push notifications differ depending on the operating system of your computer and smartphone. Therefore, make sure you follow the correct instructions. If you have any problems, you can also contact our Flip support. With the "Help & Feedback" option in your profil area, you can send us all the important information via a Help & Feedback form. We will then find a solution as soon as possible.
To guarantee the reliability of push notifications, please download the employee app only via the Chrome browser.
1. Push notification settings (smartphone/iOS)
You should make sure that you have deactivated the power saving mode on your smartphone before you open the settings for the push notifications. You can find them under the item "Settings" and then "Battery". At the top, you will now see the setting options for the "Power saving mode". You should deactivate this setting for your smartphone.
Apart from the settings, it is important to install your "Flip Employee App" via the Apple Store to ensure push notifications are functioning properly.
To enable push notification permissions on your iPhone, go to the "Settings" item. Within the "Notifications" item, you can choose to receive or block push notifications for all apps separately. Now navigate to your employee app to turn notifications on or off.
2. Push Notifications Settings (smartphone/Android)
You should make sure that you have deactivated the power saving mode on your smartphone before you open the settings for the push notifications. You can find them under the item "Settings" and then "Battery". At the top, you will now see the setting options for the "Power saving mode". You should deactivate this setting for your smartphone.
On your Android smartphone, there are two ways to enable the permission to receive push notifications. To guarantee the reliability of push notifications, please download the employee app only with the Chrome browser.
2.1. Android system settings of your employee app
In your "Settings" under the "Apps" section, all the apps on your smartphone will be displayed. Select your employee app here to open the app settings. Under the item "Notifications" you can allow or block push notifications.
2.2 Android system settings of the Chrome app
In your "Settings" under the "Apps" item, all the apps on your smartphone will be displayed. Select Chrome here to open the app settings. Under the "Notifications" item, you can allow or block push notifications.
2.3 Huaweii system settings (HarmonyOS)
The following guide will help you to check the battery settings of your smartphone to prevent that it has an impact on the reliability of push notifications.
Navigate to "Settings > Battery" and make sure the following options are all disabled: "Power Mode", "Power Saving", and "Ultra Power Saving Mode". In "Settings > Battery", search for "App Start". Scroll to your employee app and set the switch to "Off".
A dialog will appear with three options ("Auto Start", "Secondary Start" and "Run in Background"). Make sure all three options are enabled and confirm by tapping "OK".

3. Settings via the Chrome browser (Windows/MacOS)
Open your Chrome browser and enter your employee app address in the URL line (e.g. example.flip-app.com). Log in with your username and password. You will find a black "lock icon" on the left of the address entry. There you can access the site settings. Within the "Notifications" item you can enable or block push notifications.
The last step is to log out of the employee app and log in again. After that, it's best to test the push notifications with a colleague.
