How do Voice and Video Calls work?

💡 This function is an add-on. It is therefore only available if it is included in the scope of functions of your employee app.

Flip allows you to connect with your colleagues in real-time through secure voice and video calls.

To enable the feature, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Mobile Only: Currently, calls can only be initiated and received via the Flip mobile app (iOS and Android). This feature is not available on the web app at this time.
Individual Calls Only: The current version supports 1-on-1 calls only. Group calls are not yet supported.

Navigate to the "Chats" tab.
Open a 1-on-1 chat with the colleague you wish to call.
In the top app bar, tap the Phone icon for a voice call or the Camera icon for a video call.
You will see an "Outgoing Call" screen until your colleague answers.

When someone calls you, you will receive a standard incoming call notification on your smartphone, even if the app is in the background or closed.

While a call is active, you have the following options on your screen:

Voice Call: Focuses solely on audio. The loudspeaker is deactivated by default to allow for private listening, but can be turned on manually.
Video Call: Automatically activates your camera and loudspeaker so you can see and hear your colleague hands-free.
No Switching: Please note that you cannot "jump" from a voice call to a video call (or vice-versa) once the call has started. To change the call type, you must end the current call and start a new one of the desired type.

As this is the first version of the feature, some minor flaws are still present. We are working continuously to improve the user experience.
