Channel Triggers

Channel triggers are one-off messages that are sent to users of your Flip tenant when they join/are added to a channel. For example, you could send out a welcome message from your Onboarding Flow when someone is added/joins your "New Starters" channel. Or, send out updates for an event when they join an event channel.

For this feature to work, please make sure your API client is a part of the channel. You can add the API client to the channel in the Admin Console.

How it works

1) Go to the "Channel triggers" section of the platform

To do this, select 'Channel triggers' under Auto Replies:

2) Create your channel trigger

Next, select the channel(s) that should trigger the message:

If your channel isn't appearing when you search for it, check that that your API client is part of the channel(s) you are looking for.

When your happy with your selection, click "Save".

3) Choose your message

Choose the message you would like to send when someone joins your chosen channel:

Click save.

4) Track your channel trigger

After you've saved your settings, you will see that your channel trigger has been enabled. The details of the trigger will now show up in this menu, alongside details such as a trigger count (how many times the trigger has been sent to a new joiner of the channel):

You can stop the trigger by disabling or deleting it. The disable button pauses the trigger until you enable it again using the "Enable" button. The delete button will fully delete the trigger so it can't be used again.
