Approval of posts

How does the feature work?

The post approval feature allows you to create posts, submit them for approval and have them reviewed by the channel admins before publication. This ensures that posts comply with internal guidelines, for example, and are suitable for publication. This approval process applies to channels in which the approval process is activated.

Requirements as a channel user:

  1. The post approval function must be activated for the specific channel.
  2. The user must be a member of the channel in which approval is required.

Channel admin requirements:

  1. The post sharing feature must be enabled for the specific channel.
  2. The channel admin must be a member of the channel in which sharing is required.

Setting up the sharing process

  1. Navigate to the Admin Console.
  2. Click on “Content”.
  3. Click on “Channels”.
  4. Select the channel in which you want to activate the sharing process.
  5. Activate “All members with approval” under “Authorization

Once the function is activated, all posts created by users in this channel require approval by a channel admin before they become visible to other members.

Note: Posts created by an admin do not require an approval step and are published directly.

Creating a post that requires approval

  1. Navigate to the channel in which the approval setting is active.
  2. Create your post as a user.
  3. Submit your post for approval after completion.
  4. A notification informs the channel admins that your post is awaiting approval and will not be published immediately.

Review and approval by channel admins

Channel admins will see a new tab indicating that posts are pending approval.

Channel admins also see a new tab on their newsfeed that indicates the number of posts waiting for approval.

  1. Navigate to the approval tab: A separate tab in the newsfeed shows all posts that require approval.
  2. Review the post: Channel admins can choose whether to:
    • Approve the post and publish it,
    • Edit the post before approving it, or
    • Reject the post, which prevents it from being published. The post will then be deleted.

Channel admins can also schedule approved posts if they want them to go live at a later date.

Notifications for channel users

  • Approval notification: When your post is approved and published, you will receive a notification.
  • Rejection notification: If your post is rejected, it will not be published and you will be notified. Rejected posts will be deleted.
