In this article, we will show you how to administer users and channels within the Azure portal.
User administration
Case: A user has to be locked in the Flip app
You can lock a user in the Flip app by deactivating the user in Entra ID. The next sync run will lock the user in your app.
Case: A user has to be added to the Flip app
If you want to add a new user, simply add the user to the Entra ID group, which reflects the user base for Flip.
If the user needs to be a system administrator, add the user to the Entra ID group, which is used to define those admins in Flip.
Case: A user has to be defined as admin of a channel
There are two ways to achieve this:
- You can promote a member of a channel to the admin role by manually set him as a channel admin in the Admin Console of your Flip app.
- You can also add the use as the owner of the corresponding Entra ID channel. The user will be promoted to the admin role on the next sync run.
Channel administration
Case: A channel has to be created in the Flip app
You can create a channel in Flip simply by creating a corresponding Entra ID group. Ensure, that it’s named correctly. Please check Setting up dedicated Entra ID groups for Flip for more information.
Case: A channel needs specific options enabled or disabled
Since we cannot manage specific Flip channel parameters in Entra ID / Azure, detailed configurations are only possible via the Admin Console of your Flip app.
