Prepare automatic publishing in the Google Play Store

To quickly and easily provide app updates, you need a Google service account. This account allows Flip to automatically publish and update your app in the Google Play Store.

Create Google Cloud Key

  1. Open the Google Cloud Console, log in and, if necessary, create a new project.
  2. Activate the Google Play Android Developer API
  3. Open the Google Cloud service account page.
  4. Select the desired or newly created project.
  5. Click on the Create service Account button at the top of the page.
  6. Enter the service account name Flip Employee-App.
  7. Copy the e-mail address that is displayed under the "Service account ID" field and save it. We will need this again later.
  8. Click on the Done button to create the service account.
  9. Now you can see the service account with the name Flip Employee-App in the table.
  10. Click on the three dots under Actions on the right side of the table.
  11. Select the menu item Manage keys.
  12. Click on the Add Key button and select Create New Key.
  13. Select JSON as the key type and click on Create.
  14. Save the JSON file on your computer. This file must be sent to Flip later.
  15. To activate the Google Play Android Developer API, type "Google Play Android Developer API" into the search field in the header or click on this link.
  16. On the API Page, click on the Enable API button
  17. To activate the Google Play Developer Reporting API, type "Google Play Developer Reporting API" into the search field in the header or click on this link.
  18. On the API Page, click on the Enable API button

Link your Google Cloud account with your Google Play account

  1. Open the Google Play Console and log in with your account.
  2. Click on the menu item Users and Permissions in the left navigation.
  3. Click on the Invite new users button.
  4. Now enter the email address that was previously created automatically in the Google Cloud Console (step 3.4).
  5. Click on Account Permissions.
  6. Select Admin (all permissions).
  7. Click on Invite User.

Send private key to Flip

Please send the JSON file that you saved on your computer in step 9 to the e-mail address that you received from Flip.

As soon as Flip has received the private key and set up the app, your app updates will be published automatically.
